Horizon Homes

At Alabaster Jar Project (AJP), we believe healing happens in stages. Survivors of human trafficking need different levels of support as they move from crisis and stabilization toward independence, restoration, and long-term success. Guided by survivor voices and lived experience, AJP is building a housing model that meets survivors where they are and walks alongside them throughout their healing journey.

Why This Expansion Matters

Survivors Need Time to Heal

Healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. Survivors often require time to recover from trauma, develop financial stability, gain employment, and rebuild confidence before transitioning to full independence. Moving too quickly from intensive services to self-sufficiency can create barriers to lasting success and increase vulnerability to unsafe circumstances.

Addressing the Current Gap

Today, AJP operates only five residential beds. When those beds are full, there are limited alternatives available for survivors seeking safe housing. The need continues to exceed current capacity.

Over the years, AJP has learned that different stages of recovery require different levels of support. Some survivors need intensive safety, daily structure, and close staff involvement. Others are ready for increased independence but still benefit from case management, encouragement, accountability, and community.

By expanding our housing continuum, AJP will create a pathway that allows survivors to move forward with dignity, stability, and hope, ensuring that no survivor has to choose between safety and independence.
